Macros are the shizzle

I love fiddling around with macros. I also love being a tank. There aren't a lot of macros that can be made for a tank that are actually useful, same as keybindings, so its a lost craft that is forgotten to many. If anyone can proof me wrong I dare them to come and comment on my blog....

So ... since that formality is over with. Now for the interresting part.

Four Horsemen targetting macro

One thing that occured and is pretty widely know to happen is the fiddly fuddly problems with targetting the bosses and taunting in the 4-horsemen fight. Now I think most people have their own trick to it but for me I just stick to 2 macro buttons making it a swift sweep of my mouse instead of "clickerdi click, f$#% missed, Taunt on cooldown, crap .... wipe"

These are the 2 macro's that can help with that.

/target Thane Korth'azz
/cast Taunt

/target Baron Rivendare
/cast Taunt

Ofcourse the Taunt spell can be replaced by any other threat generating spell that gets a mob to follow you. So for paladins and deathknights they can pick their own.

Also if you feel fancy you could stick it all in one macro. Like so:

/target Thane Korth'azz[modifier:alt]
/target Baron Rivendare[modifier:shift]
/cast Taunt

The modifier will give you the ability to shift your macro between the one or the other. However the danger with the modifier is that you might use the wrong modifier and get stuck with taunting the wrong mob.

Vigilance Macro

Ok, One thing I found very handy is this Vigilance macro I put together. Its the most basic of basic in macro making skillzor, HAXX, but it works. Usually when I run around in a raid and run around I don't have time to pick a target, put vigi up, target mob again. Specially not when 8 other guys are running around my screen too and usually multipal mobs aswell

Now having all you warriors worked up and going "yes, YES, Ohw for the love of god, YES, give us the macro, Almighty Fuzzball". Heeeeere we go.

/focus [modifier:alt]
/clearfocus [modifier:ctrl]
/cast [target=focus] Vigilance
/targetlasttarget

The first line indicates if you use that macro button with the Alt button pressed it will mark your current target as your focus. Second line makes you able to clear focus with ctrl.
