The AH trick - New (gold) guide (part 2)

There's a few simple methods to grind gold. Most guides tell you about AH and controlling the market, but since thats just simple economics its like being a stock broker (and we know how well those guys are doing right now). Basically if your stock (selling-mat of choice) goes out of populairity you're fucked, but since its a valid and good way to make some money here's the trick.

Get Actioneer or WoWEcon. There's probably other addons, but these are used world wide and known to probably everyone.

Auctioneer:

Pre - Free all over. They do ask for a donation but you can use everything it has to offer
Con - You have to scan manually by using the scan button. Cost of gameplay.

WoWEcon:

Pre - It autoupdates and you don't have to scan AH.
Con - I don't trust things that autoupdate. Plus you have to pay for half of the things it can do.

Once you got one of these addons theres a few ways you can use them (and the AH) to make money.

Enchanting - Buy things that are low price. Disenchant them and sell the mats.
Crafting (Tailoring, Blacksmithing, etc.) - Make Epics and sell them.
Collecting (Mining, Herbing, etc.) - Sell the mats.

There 3 ways are the smartest way to make money at first. Your addon will tell you the best selling prices and you'll only have to put them in and post the auction. You'll start to make small amounts of gold and you can eventually pick a mat of choise you want to start controlling once you have enough. Remember "Making money, costs money" So buying up mats and then selling them for a higher price is THE way for profit. The downside is you'll be undercut. Specially on very active servers and selling something that no one wants for a high price will also cost you money.

So ... the best way with this is to stick to the mats you can gather and sell those once you got a stack of something.

The reason why all these guides can't tell you What to sell or What to buy is cause economy on the servers keep evolving and that includes whats in high demand. By following the news facts on WoW sites you can get ahead. For example if a new enchant will come out in a new patch, buy the mats for the enchant and sell them once the patch is released.

Once you got a hang of this all you can focus on really expensive things and try to control the market with those. But always keep in mind you'll get undercut and the only way to kill them is to buy up their stock and sell it again. This ofcourse can only be done once you got the money.
