**WORK IN PROGRESS**
As Alterior Motives progresses these tactics will be filled out. We don't mindlessly use other webbased tactics. We believe learning fights on our own with some help from information sources makes for stronger and more solid tactics.

I'm not going into all the gear checks, buff food, etc. Everyone should know their stuff by now or shouldn't be raiding. This is going to be straight forward tactics without too much messing about on what abilities a boss uses. Its basically a need to know tactic that will work no matter what. (Yes, It will include sucky drawings)
Gormok The Impaler.
He's not too hard if the group knows what to do. The positions:
Where there's only 1 dot doesn't mean there should be only 1 person standing there. Setting up like this should enable the healers to be able to target everyone and the MT-healers to get healing on the tank who's waiting on the debuff to go off.
Once everyone is in place someone should start the fight and the MT can pick up Gormak. The MT will get a debuff which will increase damage on him (massively). After 2 debuffs the MT and OT should switch. The OT and MT need to wait till their debuff runs out and can then keep switching. Its also a good idea to Disarm during this fight. This will decrease the damage done to the tank and anyone that can do it should when possible.
The second thing that happens is that Gormac throws Snobold Vassals on players in the group. These need to be killed cause they will basically render that person impossible to add to the fight. All dps can switch on the add and should get them off pretty fast. (On the achievement you need to keep them alive. A trick to do this is to kill them all the time till the boss is on 5% or so and then stop killing them and focus on the boss)
Third there will be flames in the raidgroup. Watch out for those and just step out if you're in one.
Keep repeating this till the boss is down and you should all still be alive. You got a small window of time to rebuff / get mana / get health. Use this time and prepair for the next fight
**To be continued**

I did enjoy the 30 minute debate on this one :)
ReplyDeleteYeh ... the work in progress on Vent is always really stretchy. Specially with our Balkan friends who are better at english then they think .. (but just make things more complicated by trying to explain things too well)
