Welcome to the revisit of Legacy of Kain.
You'll probably be wondering why these games .. why now? Let me tell you. My goal is to show that its possible even in this time and age to make something original. There's too many games out there made with the same stamp. The world already narrows down everything around us to unisex products that will attract the most attention and money. Thereby making a sacrifice in originality and uniqueness.
Its been years since I first bought Soul Reaver and I never fully finished it. I did finish Blood Omen 2, but that was it. I was always very impressed by the story and unique feel these games have to them. There's a few things that stopped me from ever finishing these games and I'll start with Blood Omen.
Blood Omen - Most downloads didn't have FMVs, Didn't run on XP, Didn't have save games if it did run on XP. Playing this would have been as useless as eating air for breakfast.
Soul Reaver 1 & 2 - Dodgy camera angles and respawning mobs that get annoying after a while. Plus some areas lead you back where you started and you tend to get lost from time to time.
Defiance - Even worse camera angles then Soul Reaver 1 & 2 which made my first go a very 'Meh' experience. Plus it was told to be the last in the series so I first wanted to finish the other ones.
Since the game(s) are pretty old, the last one (Defiance) coming out in 2004, finding Blood Omen (1997) will be a bitch, running it on a XP / Vista machine even more, but the story really builds on this one and its sequel Blood Omen 2. So it'd be really hard not to include it. So I went out of my way to find a copy on the web that includes the FMV's. Which are the 19-- version of current day CGI movies we find in games as Warcraft and Final Fantasy.
Some mysterious events have rendered me with time to spare and by amazement got Blood Omen and Soul Reaver working again. It was time to blow the dust off these disks and dig in deep to reveal an epic story so complex it still has people talking about it.
